Title: Marketing & Event Coordinator
Type of Position: Temporary full-time (30 hours per week)
We're looking for an energetic and outgoing person to be the face of our sports leagues this summer! Having a sports background is an asset, but an interest in meeting new people and interacting with players is a must.
Start Date: June 15, 2020
End Date: August 28, 2020
Hours of Work:
- Monday to Thursday (7.5 hours/day)
- Some evening work required based on event schedule
Location: Various sport facilities around Victoria (vehicle an asset). Admin work – remote
Responsibilities (on-site at events):
Educate participants re: COVID-19 Safety Plan and sport specific Return to Play game modifications
Facilitate volleyball, basketball, soccer and multi-sport leagues and events, include setting up/taking down equipment, organizing signage/displays, greeting/interacting with participants.
Interact with league participants and facilitate a positive community atmosphere.
Responsibilities (Admin in office):
Prepare league schedules & enter results online. Social media updates. Respond to customer and facility inquiries. Assist with marketing initiatives. Help recruit/train/supervise event staff and volunteers.
A keen interest in recreational sports; excellent verbal and written communication skills; a positive attitude and outgoing personality; effective time-management and multi-tasking skills
Experience in sport administration or event management preferred, but not necessary. More importantly, the successful candidates will be outgoing, organized, have a positive attitude, be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience recruiting, training, and supervising staff and volunteers is also beneficial
- Standard First Aid
- Valid BC Driver’s Licence
