UR Victoria Indoor Volleyball Rules
UR Victoria Coed 6’s Indoor Volleyball Rules
Standard volleyball rules apply with the following exceptions:
•No net touches at all
•A minimum of 4 people including at least 2 women and 1 man must be present on the court at all times for a game to be counted towards overall points for the night.
•The ball may contact the ceiling, or any object attached the ceiling and be considered playable provided the ball does not cross the plane of the net (i.e. the ball remains on the same side of the net after the ceiling touch) and the team has one or two contacts remaining.
•Disagreements between players on opposing teams will be resolved by a re-serve
•Both teams must agree on a “game ball” or one of the West Coast Rec game balls will be used
•In order for a person to play on your team in the final playoff week, they must have subbed for you at least twice during regular season play
•A player’s foot may not touch the baseline when serving. The only exception being the bleacher side at PISE where you are allowed one small step in.
•Teams are responsible for calling their own rule violations. Teams are not to call other team’s violations. If there is a persistent issue with another team not calling their own violations, a team captain can bring it up to the gym coordinator for resolution.
•When the gym coordinator calls “Time” teams will finish the point they are playing. In the event of a tie, one more point will be played to resolve the tie. The team who won the last point will serve.
•No alcohol is to be consumed on school property. There is zero tolerance for consuming alcohol at any of the venues.
