Sport League & Event Coordinator

Type of Position: Temporary Part-Time (20 hours per week)

We're looking for an energetic and outgoing person to be the face of our sports leagues this spring & summer!  Having a sports background in soccer and/or volleyball is an asset and an interest in meeting new people and interacting with players is a must.

Start Date: April 19, 2021

End Date: September 3, 2021

Hours of Work: Flexible with some evening work required based on event schedule

Location: Various sport facilities around Victoria (vehicle an asset). Admin work – remote

Event Responsibilities (on-site):

• Facilitate volleyball, soccer leagues and events, include setting up/taking down equipment, organizing signage/displays, greeting/interacting with participants. 
• Interact with league participants and facilitate a positive community atmosphere.

Admin Responsibilities (remote):

• Prepare league schedules & enter results online. Social media updates. Respond to customer and facility inquiries. Assist with marketing initiatives. Help recruit/train/supervise event staff and volunteers.  

Requirements:

• A keen interest in recreational sports; excellent verbal and written communication skills; a positive attitude and outgoing personality; effective time-management and multi-tasking skills
• Experience in sport administration or event management preferred, but not necessary.  More importantly, the successful candidates will be outgoing, organized, have a positive attitude, be able to work independently and as part of a team. 
• Experience recruiting, training, and supervising staff and volunteers is also beneficial
• Standard First Aid
• Valid BC Driver’s Licence

Compensation: $19/hour
